the first quote sounds like phil being unable to handle bants, but the second one makes more sense. when you spend your entire adult life having the ground you walk on worshipped, there's no way it's not going to your head and you see yourself as above all the other plebs

Linda Perry of "4 non blondes" and prolific songwriter had written songs for Ringo. She has told her story about meeting Paul and she too introduced herself and immediately asked for an autograph. He shot her down on the spot and later appologised about it.
She said that paul reacts that way to autograph requests from other celebrities and working professionals because to him it ruins all social interactions hes been in for the past 60 years. The moment he pulls a pen out it changes the mood of the room, causes a chain reaction of other people wanting things signed and making other people uncomfortable, the ones who felt it was inappropriate to ask at the time. He comes across as a dick but it shuts down the feeding frenzy before it begins. That isnt ego it is a genuine problem for any of the mega celebrities. Paul has probably been asked for more autographs than any living human, rivaled only by the likes of muhamed ali and michael jackson. She said that Paul instead prefers giving little gifts and mementos to collaborators or people he meets, preferable in private away from the big gala events or studios where people are working.

Other times paul will be out on a bike ride, meet a group of fans randomly at the edge of some lake and happily sign autographs and do the selfie thing. As long as it isnt in a restaurant or airport he can be very generous with his time. This is true for many celebrities.
Tl:dr
It was the wrong place and time for Phil to ask for a book signing. He should have known better.

According to the ancient Greeks and Romans, beer was popular among the Egyptians, the Thracians and the Germanics. Even if we use nigger science and claim Egyptians were black beer was still pretty white.

lol… it’s over… you cannot salvage Paul’s image. We all know he’s a little goblin. Here’s the best Paul story
>not too many years ago
>he decides to go to a rapper’s party
>bouncer at the club says invite only
>paul goes on about well I guess the Beatles aren’t big enough!
>bouncer says “cool bro you aint on the list”
Would have given anything to be there.

>In 2016, Paul McCartney, along with Beck and Taylor Hawkins, was denied entry to Tyga's Grammys after-party at The Argyle nightclub in Hollywood. A bouncer reportedly stopped them at the door. McCartney joked, "How VIP do we gotta get? We need another hit," according to The Guardian and Vogue. Tyga later stated he wasn't aware McCartney was there and didn't control the door.
>>127251430
It was the grammy afterparty. The dindu security guard had no idea who any of the white people were and turned them all away. Paul thought it was hillarious.

Paul McCartney is well known to be a complete cunt so it's unsurprising that he was like this to Phil Collins.
McCartney refuses to allow anyone working on his concerts (stage crew, people working at the venue, anyone on site) to eat anything except vegan food, as well as requesting that all the furniture be 'vegan friendly'.

Paul and Phil are both fantastic musicians. Watching Paul work during the Let It Be miniseries was amazing. He could come up with wonderful pop songs so quickly out of nowhere. The Beatles have a ton of good stuff from their boy band pop stuff to their more psychedelic later stuff and Paul is (I imagine) largely behind the best of the music.

Genesis up until and including Duke was fantastic. Sure there were some slips, but they were still making incredible art. And Phil even made some good pop music. The Tarzan soundtrack is chock full of it.

I don't know the rest of the interaction between the two of them. I don't know Paul's sense of humor. I don't even know if Phil is taking the piss there. I don't care about them as people. I just like their music.

If you like Gabriel Genesis, then Trick Of The Tail and Wind And Wuthering are good (Steve Hackett was still with the band). You can see the cracks in W&W (Your Own Special Way is rough), but I maintain the final three tracks on that album mog pretty much everything from Gabriel Genesis.

I also think Duke is worth having in your library. It's poppy, but there's a lot of great pop and prog pop on there.

The run from A Trick of the Tail to Duke is pretty good, the remaining albums aren't quite as good but Abacab and Genesis are solid pop albums, and even weaker ones Invisible Touch and We Can't Dance have a handful of great tracks here and there.

Phil also makes this sound like the first time he and Paul had met, but they'd known each other for decades. They'd done a photoshoot and worked in the studio together in the 80s. It kinda warrants a little mocking when you autograph hunt from someone who is essentially a peer and a friend, or maybe Paul thought they were friendly enough it would be taken as a joke.

Phil brings it up when he wants to promote himself anyway, that alone is proof of who mogs whom. When would Paul ever bring Phil up for headlines? Paul also has a full head of hair over 80.
