So after watching those two videos theneedledrop posted about Spotify and it's Ceo I deleted it not only because I don't support military drones, and the lack of money going to artists, but because I simply don't want to use a platform that remains under control of some bald white. How has nobody started a platform that actually stacks up against Spotifys UI. Has anyone else deleted the app?

I've stopped using it because it's gotten more expensive while pushing the most generic music. Currently cycling through free trials of every other streaming service.

>Apple music - higher audio quality than spotify
>soundcloud - good if you like rap and electronic
>bandcamp - no free trial but def the music lovers platform
>qobuz - haven't tried yet but the audio quality is supposed to be topnotch

I'm also going back to downloading and internet radio.

i've unsubbed from spotify and i only use it in the car. i'm currently looking for other solutions.
the thing is, all of the music subscription services are very hit or miss, from shit ui to missing artist/albums/songs that would be on a different service.
what i actually want to do is stream music from my computer's library to my phone.

Spotify isn't dead, will not be dying, and will most likely continue to grow. Cattle don't give a shit about anything you just listed. I always used an ad blocker for spotify so it was essentially "free" for me forever but even I stopped using it because it disgusts me now. It's back to local files for me from here on out. Fuck streaming "services". I'm glad sharethreads are making a slow come back so I can rebuild. You're going to want everything stored locally in the coming years anyway once you're denied access to everything online unless you ID yourself.

misleading. spotify is great if youre getting billions of streams but for small artists its financial disaster. an artist or band with a relatively small but loyal audience used to be able to make some kind of income from CD and record sales but they get fuck all from spotify. still they feel like they have to let their music be on there for the sake of visibility and the potential to find a bigger audience, which most of them wont, and a big chunk of their existing fans who might otherwise have bought an album now feel like theyre doing enough to support the band by paying their monthly spotify subs even though 99.99% of it is going to taylor fucking swift

that's usually what they do when they want a release to be vinyl only, you aren't actually supposed to spend $999 on it. Now one could argue whether or not you agree with some music only being available "physically" but ultimately that is up to the artist who created it

99% of their fanbase would just pirate their stuff. Spotify was created to combat piracy. You remember that Itunes was a thing where you could buy songs and full albums, and that wasn't a good option either for the labels.

are you going to keep calling me a shill everytime you get proven wrong?

Labels literally have all the power as to whether their music gets uploaded to spotify or not. They were approached by the creators and they were told how much they'd get paid to allow their music on there. In the end they agreed and Spotify was born. The labels could've said no and Spotify would be dead in the water without any major music on there.

Normies don't give a fuck about political shit surrounding their apps. Every cent paid to Spotify could go to drowning brown children and they still wouldn't care because it's convenient and no one is going back to buying singles/records. The normie alternatives, Apple Music and Youtube Music, are pretty much just as bad (supporting Apple and Google), so if these soft-hearted faggy liberals mean what they say, they better not stream anything again EVER and post their massive disc/DVD collections
