I don't get why every critic says this is George's magnum opus as a songwriter. It's an immaculately arranged and performed record and the melody is nice, but I never found the lyrics as evocative as people say. George has a lot more impressive songs compositionally.

I never heard it heard called evocative or anything. Just a good pop tune.
Funny sidenote: Sinatra said his favorite Lennon and McCartney song was Something.

I'd sooner pick a solo track but as far as the Beatles go Here Comes the Sun is his top tune in terms of writing a perfect song. Good thing they had the producer to chop out that excessive solo he wanted to layer in
