Are inner sleeves a trendy meme or do they actually work and keep your records secure and protected?

>cheap to buy
>help protect them so they aren't just rattling around
>keeps dust off it
>etc.
It's not exactly a ground-breaking thing but for sure good to buy. A lot better than the catalog paper records used to come in in the 60s lel.

They actually protect your records, but not these garbage plastic only ones. These things dry out and become brittle after a few years and crumble into a thousand pieces when you touch them. The best sleeves are the thick paper ones with lining on the inside.

Not a meme. Bare paper/card sleeves can scratch the shit out of your records as I found out the hard way

have you actually used the rice paper ones in OP? they don't become brittle. the cheap shitty ones that sometimes come with records do, i would agree.

I donโ€™t have a lot of experience with the specific brand in the OP but I remember, countless times, opening some used record from the 70s and the plastic sleeve just crumbling in my hands and making a huge mess.

yeah those would just be regular plastic sleeves which are garbage and are a pain in the ass to use because they crinkle instantly lel. the one in the OP is the same design as a few other top brands, likely just getting their shit from the same factory. like i said, uses rice paper which is really, really durable. not a single complaint from me over the years i've had my records in them.
