It seems like more of a trade. I was looking forward to seeing Ilan Rubin play with Nine Inch Nails this month, but Josh Freese is great too. I saw him play with the Foo Fighters 2 years ago. What im really looking forward to is a potential Foo Fighters album with Rubin, Trent not having him play on any studio recordings other than bits and Peices of Bad Witch is straight up criminal.

For what I've read, Ilan was doing some pro-Israel posts online and is also involved in a lawsuit to steal Q Drum Co. ownership from the co-founder's family who passed away years ago.
I suppose Dave offered him a bigger paycheck and decided to leave before pissing Trent off.
