I always found the Black Crowes enjoyable, but pretty pedestrian song writing-wise. Most songs are good, but very few are great and worth putting on a mix-CD. I think that fact that their best song is a cover shows that pretty well.

I love the Black Crowes, they've always made basic rock music that was pure fun and quality, nothing else. The media barely cared about them in the 90's because they didn't fit in the pop idol category, there was nothing to market to teenagers. I saw them live in their latest reunion tour and it was awesome.
