/mu/ is about to play the third match of our 2025 Summer Cup campaign against /tg/. This is a seasonal virtual AI vs AI football/soccer tournament where the different boards of 4chan play against each other. /mu/ is one of the oldest and historically most successful teams in the cup.

Sadly this is the end of our campaign, we tried our best but one of us was heavily occupied IRL and the other had to shake his rust off after not managing for a while.
Hopefully we will be back full power by autumn
If you have any suggestions for the team, let me know, I noted down the suggestion of promoting back kanye to a medal from the last two games

each team can have 4 medal players, who are basically the most important players
our medal players right now are MC Ride and Ozzy/Brian as "What a year, huh" as our gold players, Jeff Mangum and John Lennon as our silver players
"what a year, huh?" is basically a combination player of ozzy and brian wilson, before the cup started it was just brian but then just a few days before our match ozzy died and we did an emergency call to get him included, probably could have figured out a better name

We did not deserve to move on to the knockouts with that group stage performance.

I don't have much in terms of suggestions, personally not a fan of Ride due to his music but I understand that he's been there for a while, was he popular on /mu/ at some point because I never see threads with him unlike someone like Brian Wilson who gets discussed all the time. The chat seems to also really love gusic even though it's rare to see threads with him anymore too.

I try to keep a good balance of fresh memes and legacy players, MC Ride has been a medal basically since 2012/2013, same as Jeff Mangum, although for Mangum there have been some calls lately to demote him aswell, which is why he was just a silver this cup
it's extremely tough for me to not give the two of them a medal spot
maybe for autumn we can try to rotate gusic in as a medal player but I will check what the board wants pre autumn, I don't like doing polls due to very low turnout in them but maybe here a poll wouldn't be a bad idea

I think it's different with Mangum because he's the alltime topscorer and his album is on the team's logo, he can not not be a medal surely.

so I guess for autumn we can consider keeping Mangum and MC Ride as medals and then two of John Lennon, Ozzy, Brian Wilson, Gusic and Ye
