I wish I had a basement, they aren't really a thing where I live. But yeah I cannot crank up my speakers as loud as I want because my neighbour is a passive aggressive bitch who start slamming doors to signal to me that I should lower the volume. Neighbours suck

i recently started defaulting to my speakers to keep an ear out for other things in the home and started enjoying the music a lot more. i had been using headphones prior for a long time and often would get irritated listening to music and i didn't know why. i chalk it up to it being a sensory issue, i must subconsciously not like having earphones on.
