Looking back at it now with an objective perspective, was it the defining album of the 2000s, all things considered and with all intentions of weighing and measuring it equally across every aspect of the consideration?

I like punk, would I enjoy this? Where's the best place to start?

Honestly if you like punk their first album is much rawer and less commercial than Three Cheers. I'd start there and just go through all their albums in order. They have a great and diverse catalogue though it's moderately brief.
