on fear, they're a surprisingly interesting band in that they essentially invented math rock (in a shellac-esque form rather than that melodic bullshit) with most of their less popular songs. camarillo, null detector, hey and i am a doctor all prominently feature odd time signatures and use them in a more punk context, similar to some early math rock (victim's family, ruins, the previously mentioned shellac).
they also have some genuinely cool live performances that don't consist solely of the band trolling and fucking around. songs like we gotta get out of this place, what are friends for, more beer, waiting for the meat, and those previously mentioned proto-math rock songs are amazing on the kpfk live record.
