Yeah 2018 is the most recent good year for music yeah. There have has been good stuff since but pretty much entirely by legacy acts and underground bands

>20XX is the last good year for music. Except for all the good stuff that came out since.
What does it matter that they're underground bands? It's still new good music.

No. You just got old. I am probably older than you but I still seek out new music and find some of it good. Snap out of that boomer mindset.

Good. I don't want to be. The only thing worse than being young again would be being young in 2025.

Music has always and will always be shit for the most part with some gems now and then.
Imagine thinking there is this magical line of "this is when everything was good and after is when everything went bad".
Time is fake. Eras are fake. Its all a looping infinity. We are a tiny rock in a boundless universe that never started and will never end. This planet will go cold and die one day though and some other rock in space nearby will heat up in its place.

Im talking less about a factual "good music came out in this year therefore it's a good year" thing in that case I would call 2022 the worst year for music in the modern era. I mean more a feeling that good shit is coming and there's excitement in the air. For that year's like 2018, 2009, 05, 02, 01, 99, 98, 94, 92, 91, 71, 70, and 69 come to mind. Mainstream music does matter to me because if the industry is healthy the underground is healthy.

True.
>Imagine thinking there is this magical line of "this is when everything was good and after is when everything went bad".
In defense of nostalgiafags, there is a gradient to how good/bad contemporary music was at a given time, and better/worse pockets within each point on that gradient. In past decades, you had more new genres springing up, more melodic focus, more key changes. You won't see a K-pop demolition night or a rap demolition night today because the conditions for it are no longer there.

Now why did you go on a gaytheist tangent after that?

I still find enough music I can have a blast with
