>wasn't popular anymore so him and drake's label manufacture their "beef"
>popularity from the beef drops like a rock
>wins 5 grammys because you know why
>plays the superbowl halftime show
>is back to being unpopular again
is there any other examples of artists who didn't start off as an industry plant but just became one later on in their career?

Anyway. Execs are retarded but not for the reasons you think. They want to see the ROI right away. It's worse in movies than music. Many tentpole popcorn movies that make lots of money age like milk. Hence they keep going back to the IP to make sequels. Sure they own the original Jurassic Park and can do a 4K remaster, and it's probably better than what they shit out with it's name on it this year, but what's going to make more money in the short term? So think of this in terms of Drake vs Kendrick. All that fucking money they gave Drake. Probably because they were scared he was going to pull a move like Kendrick and try to own his own masters after his deal expired. Then shortly after we get a cultural referendum on Drake. Hilarious. The surface level dumb take is "Drake isn't authentic because he uses ghostwriters" yawn we've heard that one before. The real problem is the meme that every rap nerd knows. The OVO sweatshop. This rapidly aging goof preys on up and coming rappers within emerging scenes, promising them the world, then uses their talents like a vampire feasting on blood to maintain his own relevance. I know what you're going to tell me, whatever man, I like the music. But how often do you listen to old Drake albums? What is his back catalog even worth? His only value is as a slave to UMG pumping out a new album every year keeping this bullshit facade going. Kendrick doesn't have this problem. He doesn't care if teenage girls aren't going to stream his albums either. I'd rather be in Kendrick's position.

"it debuted at number 1 on the billboard top 100" wtf is the billboard. Nobody's buying any thing.

'It’s not just about physical sales—streaming data from platforms like Spotify and YouTube, plus airplay, drive the rankings. Kendrick Lamar’s song hitting number one means it had the highest combined metrics that week, reflecting popularity, not just purchases.'

Who bought this.

I would've bought it if I still lived in the US. Physical media is not accessible in my current location. I saw DAMN on the shelf and bought it on sight. I enjoy buying rap CDs anyway.

The "beef" between Kendrick Lamar and Drake was nothing more than a contrived plot in order to distract the masses from the genocide in Gaza. Both rappers are signed to labels which are under the umbrella of UMG which is owned by ultra-Zionist Lucian Grainge. Every stream from Kendrick's music is being used to fund Zionist genocide of Palestinians. But this goes far deeper and I'm entirely convinced Kendrick Lamar is being covertly funded and propped up by the CIA.

Starting in the 1940s the CIA launched the Congress for Cultural Freedom, a think-tank designed to channel funds into the anti-Soviet left. They funded intellectuals, musicians and artists who appeared "leftist" but were actually anti-Marxist and anti-proletarian. This included propping up hideous and meaningless modern "art" as a means of alienating the working-class from the arts and ensuring art could only be appreciated by pompous cultured elites.

There is zero doubt in my mind the CIA has been behind the rise of hip hop for this exact same reason. Hip hop is primarily an anti-working class genre of "music," made by the black lumpenproletariat AKA the criminal underclass. Marx pointed out how the lumpen are an adversary of the genuine working-class, used by the elite classes to offset class struggle. The lumpen in no way threaten the power of cultured elites, hence why they use the lumpen as a substitute revolutionary subject. The Ivory Tower loves and pushes hip hop for this exact reason.

Now Kendrick has been receiving an unbelievable number of accolades for the past 12 years. He's won a Pulitzer Prize and upheld as the greatest cultural icon of recent history. Why? Because as American workers are starting to rise up, CIA-backed intellectuals promote rap as a way to offset any true proletarian culture from emerging.

This is evil.

The beef had to do with UMG not wanting to pay Drake what Drake was demanding, so they pimped out Kendrick's diss tracks to make sure Drake was humiliated.

God gosh you are all insane.

Denounce and reject that absolute worthless fraud and his worthless messages. Jesus fucking Christ y'all are stupid, but the damage looks irreversible. Seriously get some help. The pretend world has perverted your ability to both be understood, and to comprehend. You are losing your mind. Read a book now before it's too late.
