>>127294786for me it was this image of john lennon that led me to the album safe as milk
although technically before that i had heard that a beefheart song in the big lebowski. i had also heard a cover of the song dropout boogie https://youtu.be/WjIk_8a1Z9g
i loved safe as milk all the way through, and still do to this day, it's just very clean and energetic. it really is as the album title says, safe as milk. it's groovy. can't even recall the rest of the order cause i just quickly became obsessed with don and the paintings, words, and music. i definitely spotlight kid and earlier are my favorites. but every single album has at least some songs that i would revere.
i will say the two albums i was most NOT into was clear spot and bluejeans and moonbeams, but eventually even stuff in those albums that blew me away. https://youtu.be/JaOs-2PcFBU

TMR isn't that exhausting if you already have the mentality to enjoy chaotic music, i think it just gets it's meme status from a combination of the album cover and don's lyrics / delivery. I CANNOT GO BACK TO YOUR FROWNLAND MY SMILE IS STUCK. i remember sentences and song names more than some of the music on that album desu. the phrases are so memorable. when big joan sets up.
