It is far more voluntary than it is rejection, at least in my case. I got invited to chill last night and opted to record instead. Having fun for a day is great but creating something timeless is better, and the skills needed to do so require countless hours to cultivate. The people who choose not to alienate themselves will probably never achieve the conditions needed to resonate with others in a deeper way.
