I feel that it's a psyop. You're only allowed to make art that concerns darker aspects of life if you're being vulgar about it. Something like that. It's another side of the same coin as creed being mocked not really for being bad music but for being wholesome and christian

I mocked them in highschool for being rap metal because I was a tr00 metal enjoyer. I actually don't mind them now as the songs are quite catchy. I don't find the lyrics cringe at all, if anything I find them uncomfortable to listen to.
