Never again can us wiseasses call it corporate rock without thinking first--whatever moved Tom Scholz to craft this album a decade later, it wasn't commerciality. He's more like the Pope of latter-day arena rock, weaving together magnificent textures and soaring cathedral vocals as the articulation of an art-metal thought long extinct. Not as bad as you expected, nor worth giving a second listen to. C+
