What does /mu/ think of this album?
>>127301669 (OP)It's great U2's best album in my opinion. Beautiful, lush, and with some kind of dark edge (aaaay), it's like rock with some parts of the new wave and gospel. Easily accessible too, for those who want to listen to something a little different than regular rock music.
Top 5 90s albums for me. Acrobat, One, So Cruel, until the end of the world, and others, fantastic songs and the best lyrics they ever came up with.
One is one of the greatest songs ever
They had no great albums after Joshua Tree.
Then they just had a few great singles.
Last good one was in 2004.
There was nothing after.
The deep cuts are as strong as the singles. It’s perfectly sequenced. It’s fresh, diverse, unique, and fun. I love this album.
Should be /mu/ core
>>127301669 (OP)War was the only decent U2 album
This is what people who were scared of grunge used to listen to.
>LE WIMMON NEED LE MAN FOOL LIKE LE FISH NEEDS LE BICICLETA. GOSH I AM SO HECKING RESPECTFUL OF WIMMONS
>>127301669 (OP)Makes me crave some good ol KFC
>>127301669 (OP)its good but sounds very early 90's
It's a great album, but I don't think they've ever done anything defining, they've always been somewhat middle of the road commercial rock.
It is a great album, but they weren't pushing boundaries or anything.
>>127302038No one was scared of grunge it was pussy music like U2's music people were more scared of the hair metal bands who were way more masculine than depressing grunge music

Incredible album – one of the decade’s best. It’s a remarkable reinvention that erases so many of the preconceptions of what U2 was up to that point sonically, lyrically, from an attitude perspective…and still builds off the things that made them so dominant in the 80’. Totally fit the time and space in which it was created and is such a shake-up from the Joshua Tree/Rattle and Hum era. Also sparked U2’s incredible run of bigger-than-life live shows. The songs are incredible top to bottom, no skips for me.
I hate The Edge and his thin tone
I hate Bono and his big nose
A top 90s album. Fantastic guitar tones. Radiohead got half of their ideas from this one.
it's one of those albums you hear is highly praised and beloved and then you listen to it and are just like... "why?"
did you have to be there to get it?
>>127302191found the guy who was scared of grunge lol
>>127305070it’s called not listening until it clicks. it means you’re a pleb
>>127302260>>127302439>>127305070Achtung Baby is for U2 what Wish is for (The) Cure imo
except Wish is the better album and Cure the better band
>>127302195>>127302204>>127302209Pushed this gimmick to the moon and it never got over with anyone. Looking forward to the crying wojak and green text reply you give because you know it's true.
