i have made a thread about this, what are concert promoters going to do when we live in a world of just old hag taylor swift and ancient mumble rappers who are irrelevant because rap has an ageism problem

the death of rock is going to be the death of live music.

Iโ€™ve been banging this drum for 20 years but nobody cares. I laugh whenever I read about a new concert venue getting built. Do we honestly think Taylor Swift, Kendrick Lamar and Morgan Wallen are going to shoulder the weight of the concert ticket industry? Look at how desperate people are for a rock band (Oasis reunion)

music is dying, not for lack of performers, but the death/monopolization/enshittification of the infrastructure required to build a following "the old fashioned way"; the alternative paths are also monopolized and enshittified.

The experience of going to concerts, even at local venues has become so shit for audience and performer alike that it just isn't worth it anymore. Even the best of the current artists/bands are struggling to break even on the road (and forget about music sales).

There is no fix. I'm glad I'm old enough to have seen most of the great bands in their heydey (and a bunch of them before they were huge).

She was 31 actually. She started out in the 60s as a teenage backing singer on girl group records and then was a Playboy Bunny for a time. The truth is Blondie never really were a punk group despite playing at CBGB's and Debbie really always wanted to be Diana Ross not Lydia Lunch.

the 2004 tour was awful, I mean really awful, not in that "oh they're not as good as they were in the 80s and early 90s" kind of way, but in a "jesus fucking christ wtf has gone wrong in the world of Van Halen"

the 'reunion' shows were better b/c EVH reeled it in a little with the drugs and booze but yeah I feel badly that the 2k4 show was your first VH concert.

yeah I remember seeing Floyd in 94 and everyone being like "fuckin' David Gilmour is old" and he was 48 at the time.

And Billy Joel on the 1994 River of Dreams tour - he'd have the music from Jurassic Park going when they turned off the lights to start the show, and he was joking about how all the dinosaurs, including himself, were on tour that year (Floyd / Stones / etc)

I have never understood why people get so autistic about having a space between their paragraphs. It looks like a nigger wrote it without one.

Normal paragraph breaks are fine. On reddit you have to Enter twice for a line break, which shows up as double spacing on any other website.

So when someones post is completely double spaced.

Like this.

It's safe to assume they're a faggot redditor.

And can safely be ignored.
