and it’s got to do with how he was raised too and getting beat up as a kid, bullied. it was a different time and you can’t compare it to people today in a valid way, the level of consciousness was vastly different. he wasn’t being woke so much as truthful from his perspective. you can say informed or biased by upbringing. and the lack of honesty about the reality of behavior brought it up in a more organic way. he wasn’t antifa. he was just moral and had a working conscience, and then being an artist and addict was more extreme at times. it was welcome, he was never being a faggot.

He's much more famous in third world countries. But you're right. During his lifetime, no one here bought his albums. Not unless they were cheap bootlegs. Maybe now that collecting albums is trendy, things are a little different, but I don't think so much. What I do know is that I don't even have to look at statistics on Spotify or any other streaming platform to know that Chile, Brazil, and maybe Mexico or Argentina (the latter being closer to the fourth world than anything else) are among the top five countries that listen to him the most. The third world gives Courtney most of her streaming shekels. Here, everyone, even zoomers and alphas who listen to a different kind of music, knows who el Curco Bein is. Maybe it has something to do with his influence on artists like Lil Peep, who are also huge here.
