As a huge fan of Radiohead's 90's output, I just cannot, and never have been able to, get into their post 2000 stuff.

Name even a handful of catchy, actually good songs from Kid A onward I dare you, you can't

15 Step is their only good song and the Faustian Karma Police is good for movies

Just relistened to In Rainbows to test myself and again, bodysnatchers and jigsaw are alright songs but pale in comparison to the majority of their 90s output

Get into AMSP. It's their best album and enough time has gone by that most Radiohead fans realize it.

I mean, not every good song has to be catchy. Even still, >>127812070
pointed out enough catchy songs. Do you really think that, like, Pablo Honey is a better album than in rainbows just because it’s catchier? If all you value in music is how catchy it is, then sure, their 90s output is probably your best bet. But they have beautiful and heart-wrenching songs starting from Kid A that you’re missing out on imo.

Honestly yes upon maturing for years in my musical journey, I really only care if a song is catchy and physically enjoyable to listen to now. I'm not going to force myself to listen to non-catchy songs just because they're acclaimed.

Emotional heart wrenching absolutely have value to me too, even if they're not catchy, it's just that Radiohead's post 2000 output doesn't have much emotional impact on me via the lyrics or sounds so I get nothing out of it. Even if the entirety of OK Computer was 30% less catchy I could still love the songs off how emotionally resonant they are because they're still well crafted good songs. For example Fitter Happier has more value to me than most of their post 2000s stuff even though I don't consider it catchy at all.

i dont know. i sort of agree that radiohead followed (and still kind of do) the U2 formula.
