Progress so far. The last years I've always started with some classics, but over the years I lost my appetite for them. The only classic bands I listen to anymore are pre 2000 Gorgoroth, Burzum, and Immortal if I'm in an exceptionally good mood. I think I will continue with some NSBM and then see where the month takes me.

Personally, I could never stand Mayhem which is strange. The Deathcrush EP was the first time Black Metal clicked for me, but the only other Mayhem records I like are Wolf's Lair Abyss and ofc Live in Leipzig. Darkthrone doesn't really do anything for me, but I would agree that Emperor is much better than Gorgoroth, but somehow I still rather listen to the latter. Their sound just fucks if this makes any sense. Or maybe I listen to them more because I've seen them live once and somehow have a stronger emotional connection to their music.

With the British, and other EU governments drafting more and more tyrannical online "safety laws" 4chan will be banned by UK ISPs before the year is out in my estimations, other European governments will likely follow suit;and at this point I wouldn't be surprised even by the US doing similar, as they have had a whole spate of nanny-state laws such as regarding cigarettes and tobacco sales, and as much as I despise porn and what it represents, the banning of access without ID in some states.
