am i the only one who cant get into geese? i havent been on /mu/ in a while so idk what the consensus is here but i feel like everyone has been hyping getting killed an insane amount so ive tried to understand the appeal, but i cant help but feel like everyone is gaslighting me.
too many notes, formless song structure, no real melodies, i forget the songs as soon as they’re over, sometimes while im listening to them. it just sounds like nothing to me, if not being actively abrasive, just so much percussion and notes, it sounds like a bunch of monkeys on stimulants slamming on pianos. i want to like them, i like similar stuff, but my sense is that everyone wants to be in on the “new up and coming indie kids” and they happened to fit the bill, and has all these washed 40-something guys hyping each other up about how this album is such a masterpiece. i do think cameron winters voice is interesting, lyrics can be good when they’re not overly le random, and i like his solo stuff more, but still it feels like he has like three vocal “tricks” that he uses for like every song. if i could sum up my feelings its like they’re reddit parquet courts without the catchy songwriting
anyone else feel this way? idk
