How do I psyop myself into liking trains? Any good books/videos/documentaries? I'm really into other methods of transportation/infrastructure and I keep trying to spark that same interest in trains, but I haven't been able to.

Why do you feel that you need to like trains? Stop being retarded and using stupid phrases like "psyop."

Honestly for a lot of people it's something they're born with/develop during early childhood. That being said I wasn't much into other modes of transport as intensely as I have been with trains (buses were also something I've liked early on mind you).. But the more I learnt about cars, trucks, tanks, planes, helicopters, boats, ships etc the more my interest has grown. I still won't say I know a GREAT amount about half those types of vehicles but the more you learn about something the more your interest might develop. You can't force it or rush it though, if there's a particular aspect you feel ignorant about just take the time to dive more into it and then your interest might gain traction (pun-intended). Just yeah don't force anything, just take the time to watch some videos, learn about a particular class of train or something and see if any of it makes you tick

You get it, yeah. That's kind of where I'm at in that my interest has been primarily in ocean liners, but I'd really like to branch out. Really appreciate the advice, I'll keep it in mind :)

very mild autism is the prerequisite, and then you have to get into a specific country/epoch of your choosing and research the locomotive types, operations, the yards and locomotive shops, and so on, just learn how things work on the railroad

There's reading about something then there's seeing it. Pictures alone can perplex people but when they see a video of something in action it starts to make a lot more sense. So I get that you were being sarcastic anyway but I think it takes more than that to develop an interest anyway

Firstly learn to post an image that doesn’t have the text cropped at the end so you can’t read it. Secondly who said he was a normie or that liking trains, a form of vehicle used all over the globe in dozens of different roles remotely equates to some faggy card game getting ruined

Find the right kind of train or region desu. For example I love japanese trains but I'm not too interested in shinkansens and "mainstream" railway lines, though I'm really into JR Hokkaido. So it's oki if you haven't discovered your niche yet desu

Hard to say. IMO what train fanaticism boils down to is that trains run along very specific routes and use specific points along it to load and unload. There's no room for deviation unless the track is blocked, but if that's the case, the solutions are very specific: It either stops or uses a specific alternate route, if available. No chaotic solutions like U-turns or detours along random roads are possible. The heaviest and largest land vehicle either gets to its destination using a predetermined path built specifically for it, or it stays still until such a path is available.

Trains dont want to be know by you.
You need to be one with the rails.
Sleep in a railyard for a night. carry a boxcar. th
then you'll understand locomotives.

just ride on them regularly and you'll grow to like them, assuming you're not in a hurry while you do. it's a great way of exploring your country.
or are you talking about that unique type of train autism that focuses on models? I don't care about that either, think you just have to be born with it. tho some models like pic related are pretty cute if you ignore the diesel fumes you smell inside

Hidden rails. I wish there was a walking trail alongside all rail lines, good luck following them by road.

Start with the blimp train. Then progress to more noemie shit like fan trains and pneumatic tube trains. It's a landslide from there.
