i watched a bunch of air craft crash videos on youtube and my only question is

why is a VFR certification not obligatory for all pilots?

Because it's far more difficult to obtain and unnecessary for many private pilots.

there is no VOR or DME in those planes? It doesnt have any of the IFR operation equipment installed either? sorry if dumb question Im only in PPL training right now

Because most private pilots are fair weather pilots. I think it should be required for night VFR though.
