The rubber isn't the problem. The problem are the shitload of synthetic compounds used in modern tires.

Modern tires are objectively great tho because of all the additives
If you want to go back to 50s tires fine I don't

It's time to ban personal automotives. They're a waste of nonrenewable resources and the pollution they cause is having global health impacts. To say nothing of the waste of land and costs.
We have the solution already. The solution is trains. Just ban deathboxes and tell fatasses to roll if they can't walk.

This. Unironically. When there is just one armed attack half of the political spectrum will loose their minds over banning the specific weapon or weapons in general.
Motorist attack: 'Accident' is the politically correct euphemism and if it's beyond doubt proven not to be an accident well maybe not have people attack others duh.
People will be signalling virtue all day long by talking shit how then being frugal in an isolated case or consumung stuff the marketing departement promised was 'carbon neutral'.
Meanwhile the same people will use motorvehicles and heat living spaces. Two most unneccessary things that, in my country for example, make up around half of the greenhouse gas emissions.
>BUTWHATABOUT
no.
Cars maim people, cars kill people, cars pollute the air everyone has to breathe, cars cause their users to become docile, mentally and phyically weak. Cars are entirely obsolete. Perhaps in a transition phase some people would really depend on them because we have by now created a world made for the car but they are the exception. In such a case it should be required to have a diligent and educated professional and licensed driver. Most people holding drivers licenses have become desensitized or are really just plain assholes. The result is reckless driving, endangering others, sometimes even causing noise and airpollution aswell as endangerment on purpose. A professional driver whose livelyhood depends on the license would on the other hand act professional (wow). A professional could also expected to undergo regular renewal of licensing. The current drivers license system does not test for psychological abnormality. Psychopaths for example make up 1-2% of the population, at the same time they are more likely to be motorists as not caring is their hallmark. Do we see 2% of appicants being rejected because of their mental state? No? Drivers licenses are being handed out to psychopaths.

This. We don't need to poison our land and air just so cletus and tanishqua can slave for goldberg, and so the Jones can live in their sociopath suburbs.

>trucks gotta truck
is one of the worst imaginable snowmans.
Amateur use of motorvehicles for various reasons ranging from mere relatable laziness to joyriding has little to do with professional use of motorvehicles by for profit companies for purposes where alternatives really are not very feasible.
People making this 'argument' basically agree that all private licenses should be revoked and all non-commercially uaed cars seized.
This alone would easily end a majority of traffic, majority of motorvehicle associated pollution and ressource use and a vast majority of antisocial, spiteful, agressive, wasteful, dangerous and similar behaviour involving motorvehicles.
Remaining commercial license holders could be expected to periodically renew their licenses to ensure their cognitive and physical abilities are adequate, their character is good, and they have not forgotten motoring law and also are up to date on new legislation.
They could and should also be held to reasonable standards when it comes to violations against the law and good conduct. The possibility of loosing their license and with it livelyhood would be a good incentive. The company behind it could be held accountable for direct harm done so that people finally get adequate medical care after being hit by reckless drivers so at least whatever function can be restored will be restored.
For profit companies being in charge would automatically end mindless and useless aswell as wasteful use of motorvehicles.
The motorist will bawl every day about how fuel was expensive, regardless how cheap it is. Only to demonstrate that the alleged expense has absolutely no effect on their nehaviour every time they get behind the wheel. They will instead even waste additional ressources in situations where nothing is to be gained. A company facing competition is best advised not to allow wastefulnes.

I was under the impression microplastics mostly stem from (((their))) synthetic garments. But I cant cite a source, might be totally wrong.
