This light rail line has been under construction for 15 years. The city chose light rail over subway because dumb counsellors believed it would be cheaper and faster to build.
The line service is fully grade separated and partially tunnnelled in the west half, then an express surface tramline in the East running down the middle of a busy thoroughfair.
After years of mishaps it looks like its finally coming online. Can these mixed use lines actually be succesful? Basically its a midtown subway, and also a suburban midtown tramway. Will it work, or will the city be revisiting how it operates in the future?
