Coaches were very comfy.
All gone now, subsumed by the MTA.

Madison Square Park was a major hub for them.
Building in the background of >>2046162 (OP) pic related is park-adjacent Metropolitan Life North Building:

Each corner has an enclosed plaza underneath, like pic related, giving a sense of what's behind the bus in >>2046162 (OP) (SW corner, whereas this pic related is the NW corner).

Pic of the full building (left). Was supposed to be the tallest building in the world, but they ran out of money during the Great Depression.

This footage makes me nostalgic for the good old days when you could ride your bike down Broadway like a human being, without all those b*ke l*nes and potted plants and picnic tables everywhere making it impossible to go a block without 30 random pedestrians standing in the b*ke l*ne. But hey at least there's a Venchi and a La Pecora Bianca and a Lady M boutique with sidewalk dining every 300 meters right? Privatize the profits, let the public pay the price.

John Forester is, was, and always will be right

I like to run in them.
Only problem is avoiding the piss puddles.
