Disagree. If the roads are private then the owners might have an incentive to make them good and encourage more driving.
We need to maintain public ownership of the roads, so we can have absolute control over the cager. More traffic calming. More bike lanes. Less parking. Random car-free street festivals.
Road maintenance is a small price to pay for power.
