Are Murder Rates Plummeting Under Donald Trump? What We Know

Homicide rates in the United States have dropped by an average of 20 percent since 2024, with record-low numbers of murders being recorded across the country, according to a crime data analyst.

Love this article:

โ€œThe White House is taking credit for this fall. However, this reduction in homicides is part of a larger trend. In June 2024, homicide rates were down nearly 20 percent from 2023, and in 2023, homicide rates dropped by 13 percent from 2022.

Asher told Newsweek: "I think that it would be hard to give credit towards administration action, given that it really just a continuation of trends [and continuing on] momentum from things that were happening before."

Just another pathetic attempt of the Trump admin to find anything that is not a failure, so they have to take credit for things they had nothing to do with

To be fair though, murders spiraled out of control under Biden and 2024 was just a return to normal. The last 6 months in 2025 have actually been record low

You realize we have an exact death count for those protests and they absolutely didn't, right?

Institutional racism goes back centuries, but certainly Trump contributed to it.

Idk about exact, but what's reported is at least 25 Americans died as a result of the summer of love to protest the prophet Floyd, peace be upon him

Your count's too high and includes deaths during the protests but not in the protests. Also includes a lot of killed protesters which seems a lot like blaming the victim.

There is exactly 1 kill known to have been caused by a protester and they claimed self-defense and were never found guilty.

But let's say your 25 figure were actually correct. Every murder that happened anywhere in a city during a protest was caused by protesters. That still wouldn't cause a noticeable change in the US murder rate, which is high as fuck.

It's not really cope to point out a lot of those deaths literally weren't at protests.

A body gets found down by the river or a security guard gets shot during a robbery cross town "during the protests" and it went on the count.

By the way, those are real examples.
