At least, that’s what one student at UCLA in California thought, as he shared his final project and revealing it was done with the help of ChatGPT. A video shows an unnamed student at the University of California, Los Angeles, displaying his laptop screen to the camera. However, the focus is not on the laptop itself but on the content displayed: a ChatGPT prompt and its corresponding response. Why is this particular prompt and response significant? It was the response that helped him pass his final project and graduate

The video was part of the school’s graduation ceremony and was broadcast live, as well as on the large screens in the theatre where the ceremony took place. So, not only did we see that he cheated to graduate, but so did the entire school and the staff there. However, there has been no revocation of the degree, and UCLA has not commented on the situation. However, that doesn’t mean that they don’t plan to at some point in the future.
