Erin Patterson has been found guilty of murdering three of her estranged husband's relatives and the attempted murder of another over a death cap mushroom-laced lunch.

The jury of seven men and five women took seven days to reach its verdict following a high-profile trial in the town of Morwell, in south-east Victoria, that lasted about nine weeks.

This trial was fuckin wild. Like you'd think at first "oh she was just a naturalist too stupid to identify a mushroom" but no, this shit was premediated as hell. She invited all her in-laws only and tried to get her estranged husband too with full intent of poisoning all of them. Then she proceeded to do the most suspicious shit possible when police looked into it:
>Claimed the mushrooms were store bought
>Had a tag on iNaturalist showing she found death caps a few weeks back
>Threw the dehydrator she used in a trash can at a convenience store a few miles from her house
>Gave the cops a spare phone when they asked to look through her phone, then factory reset her main phone before they realized they'd been duped

Gets more hilarious when you find out her hobby is listening to True Crime and reading Crime Fiction. No wonder police do not worry about shows like CSI potentially teaching crims how to clean up.
