Trump says US will send Patriot missiles to Ukraine

WASHINGTON, July 13 (Reuters) - U.S. President Donald Trump said on Sunday he will send Patriot air defense missiles to Ukraine, saying they are necessary to defend the country because Russian President Vladimir Putin "talks nice but then he bombs everybody in the evening."
Trump did not give a number of Patriots he plans to send to Ukraine, but he said the United States would be reimbursed for their cost by the European Union. The U.S. president has grown increasingly disenchanted with Putin because the Russian leader has resisted Trump's attempts to negotiate a ceasefire between Ukraine and Russia.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy has asked for more defensive capabilities to fend off a daily barrage of missile and drone attacks from Russia.
"We will send them Patriots, which they desperately need, because Putin really surprised a lot of people. He talks nice and then bombs everybody in the evening. But there's a little bit of a problem there. I don't like it," Trump told reporters at Joint Base Andrews outside of Washington.

"We basically are going to send them various pieces of very sophisticated military equipment. They are going to pay us 100% for that, and that's the way we want it," Trump said.
He plans to meet NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte to discuss Ukraine and other issues this week.

The Ivans in /news/ are fucked.
But then, the Putin nutglazers have been curiously conspicuous by their absence recently.

Way too early to be optimistic man. Despite everything Trump still likes Putin more than Zelenskyy, I wouldn't be surprised if he managed to play him for a bit longer even after this. We'll see

It's not even about Israel, he's just a narcissist who really respects Putin and Netanyahu in his own twisted way. He sees them as strong men capable of bringing about great change with force. Allegedly he was against Israel's attack on Iran, but once the attack happened anyways, eh couldn't bare the thought that someone had a successful and impressive military strike and he had no part in it.
>>1420234
"just about" is doing some heavy lifting there mate

Well that plus how he'll totally respect Trumps 50 day ultimatum, and how he's almost ready for peace he just needs to sort out some tiny disagreements with Ukraine (i.e. their unconditional surrender)

I'm genuinely curious, why someone (rational) would root for Ukraine's defeat unless they're living in Russia or China or something.
A world in which Russia wins (whatever that definition of victory might look like) is a worse place for just about most nations since it promotes more wars of aggression for landgrabs as the new status-quo.
I get it if you're an American who thinks Europe should bear the brunt of the cost, which as a Europen I agree with, but straight up wanting Russia to win is pretty short sighted

Trump respects Starmer too. How the latter last year cracked down on rioters that daren't try it on since, certainly now Sir Keir has GCHQ on his side. Starmer's based.

I think it's ridiculous that we're helping an Israeli-backed nation commit suicide against Russia. I would prefer it if Russia + Ukraine made peace but Trump is being held hostage by Epstein shit so he'll go along with whatever the Israeli's want.

Yeah, that's why I'm wondering if there is a rational reason or it's all just people who have a simplified understanding of geopolitics and/or have fallen for propaganda

>Israeli-backed
How does that make sense? In fact Israel was (and still is) very reserved with its support, even before October 7th. Most likely because Russia can cause more trouble for Israel in the region than Israel can for Russia in Ukraine. There have been rumors about some air defense supplies and that's about it, also some armored cars in '22 or '23 but I think those were given by a private company not the Israeli government.
Kinda of the same situation with the ROK.
>nation commit suicide against Russia
For starters, with adequate support it wouldn't be a suicide. Both Biden and Trump failed in their own ways in this regard. And as I pointed out earlier, if you're living in a western nation then Ukrainian victory is very much in your own self interest.
>I would prefer it if Russia + Ukraine made peace but Trump is being held hostage by Epstein shit so he'll go along with whatever the Israeli's want
lmao, okay buddy.
Trump couldn't make peace because he (at least acts as if he) fundamentally misunderstands the situation. The US absolutely has the capability to bring both sides to the table, but Trump thought he could do it by forcing Ukraine into capitulation and that just doesn't work.

But I doubt it's the same as how he views Putin for example

>How does that make sense?
Zelensky is jewish and pays homage to Israel. Azov and a few other battalions were funded by an Israeli energy kingpin and also praise Israel.
This war makes more sense when you realize that Israel is predominantly comprised of azshkenazi jews. They originated from eastern europe. This is why the jews in Israel have the highest prevalence of skincancer in the region; they didn't originate from there. Ukraine and Poland are their ethnic homelands.
Ukraine used to be rife with German sympathies from back when the Germans kicked the Soviets out, but at the same time Bandera was a mischling. This made fertile ground for the Mossad to use Jewish oligarchs like Kolomoisky to fund, subordinate and infiltrate the existing movements.
>For starters, with adequate support it wouldn't be a suicide.
Pyrrhic victory. We can send them weapons, but the men will keep killing each other until none are left.
Both Ukraine and Russia are filled to the brim with third positionists who only disagree on how much autonomy ukraine should be allowed to have. But Ukraine is still being directed to kill an entire generation's worth of slavs by Zelensky.
Israel gets to kill lots and lots of slavs, steal their land, and blame Nazis for their own crimes. While this is happening, they use the massive but under deployed Russian military and the psychotic delusions of the Ukrainian army as a means to kill the actual National Socialist militias and PMCs on both sides in trench warfare.
What they're doing in Ukraine is literally what Israel has been doing in Gaza, the Sinai & eastern Palestine. Except instead of funding Hamas to act belligerent to Israel, they're funding Azov, zelensky etc

The problem with your way of thinking is that you believe borders are stagnant. They are not, people don't think that way. WWI threw Europe into disarray, and WWII after that. If you look at a map of the world and believe that all these nations, big or small, rich or poor, if you believe that this is gonna be the world for the next 2,000 years, you're either extremely naive or you have an agenda that no one knows about. Why do you think governments spend so much money on defense? To fight aliens? No, it's for attack and defense.

What's your point? How does that relate to what I said?
I am aware that the post WW2 world order which has given (at least Europe) its time of relative peace, compared to historic normalcy, won't last forever.
But a world where Russia wins is one where that end will come about a lot quicker and I don't see how that would be something anyone could wish for
