This or one of the cheaper competitors (MK, Westfield). With a bike engine you’re looking at a 900lb vehicle. Components and consumables last forever and are cheap to replace. Anyone can work on one. There’s really no other option if you want to go cheap but still be fast

It’s pretty damn hard to beat a k series if you’re on a budget. Slap one in a miata, get some DIY plywood aero, and you’re off to the races.

Those are the exact cars we are talking about here, thoughbeit.

no, that's not what you are talking about, you said "for cheap"
aero is expensive, and powering through aero requires power (duh) which is also expensive

Only if you want it to be. You can absolutely make yourself some good aero for cheap.
>power is also expensive
Depends on how you do it. Again, a built k series will reliably get you to high hp figures on a budget.

those cars use custom damn-near everything. and even when they're fully built, you need to do tons of laps to make adjustments and "develop" them over time just like manufacturers do at the nurburgring.

The trvke is that time attack is one of the easiest and cheapest racing disciplines to compete in in the USA. Especially the poorfag divisions. Most racers get their feet wet with time attack and then move on to wheel to wheel or some other discipline.

buying and modifying a car with high quality parts can't be cheaper than doing rallying/derby in a $1000 craigslist shitbox. or the 24 hours of lemons.

That’s not really “real” racing. Yeah there’s a finish line and a winner, but it’s more of a beer league thing where the goal is to hoon a shitbox, not to be fast.

why does everyone think all time attack = unlimited?
time attack has classes too you know, there's limits on mods, power, weight, tires, platform, etc.
you can be competitive in time attack on cheap without any aero (because aero isn't allowed in some classes)

anyways, time attack and time trials are gay, go wheel to wheel racing

Depends on the class its competing in. Anon, you wouldn't compare a 600cc and a 300cc right? You need to do the same for cars.
