My car needs 2 repairs:
1. Oil pan replacement
2. Rear bumper

This is causing it to fail inspection. I have an uptight mechanic, does things at wonderful prices, but I'm living out of my car rout of surprise rn. How do you find a relaxed mechanic who will slap it on so you can stay within the law?

find a mom and pop gas station repair shop.
your oilpan might only need a new gasket, or a new layer of RTV.
what about the rear bumper is causing you to fail inspection?
the skin or the bumper core? either one can be found at a junkyard for cheap
where are you located?

Nah the bottom of it is rusted to fuck and it needs new gaskets as well. Just slapping another one over it and bolting it on would be fine but my usual mechanic won't do shit like that.

The rear subbumper just needs a foam filler and paintjob tbqh. On my model car it's got problems with rusting out (2008 Honda Element) but again, my usual guy is more upright. I love him but he doesn't do this kinda stuff.

My usual mechanic said he couldn't find one and I've never contacted a scrapyard before. If he could get one, it needs the old one taken off and then welded on. I assume it's the bumper's core, let me check. Probably 2 hours of work.

Pennsylvania.
