Thinking about getting either a go kart or a making a race mower (gearing change and lowering the frame).
What are the pros and cons of each?
How do they differ in fun and feel?
What would you go with and why?

Go karts are purpose-built vehicles, while race mowers are just modded lawn implements. Comparing the two is like comparing an IndyCar to a lowered truck - one is a bona fide racing machine and the other is a toy

if you are converting a lawn mower you will want to ensure you have adequate suspension. Slow lawn mowers need very little suspension, but if you are moving at high speed you will need suspension.

I would go with a Kart. As >>28452970 said it will handle much better. You also have more options to modify without having to adapt or customize parts to fit. Where you plan to ride it will also affect your decision. If planning to ride around your yard, then you need at least some ground clearance, so something like the azusa or a manco kart would be something to look into. You can pick up used frames cheap on local markets to give you a base to start with.

You have to go back.

karts can be pretty intimating to jump straight into, the g forces are a serious problem if you're untrained

start off with pic related for a few months. master this then move up. also don't skip neck day

This is a dumb suggestion. Running LO206 won't strain his neck or ribs that badly.

Never claimed to be. I'm telling you that world formula or Lo206 are too damn slow to bruise himis rib cage or yank on his neck that hard while cornering, as someone who used to be very into karts and had TAGs and DD2s.

also technically, everything else isnt an afterthought. on nascar cars are tuned to turn left better and to turn right worse. so its the opposite of an afterthought
