How? Powerful motors have existed for decades. The thing is motors don't make power, the battery pack does. A small and powerful motor is irrelevant when it needs a 2000lb battery pack to feed it that power. Meanwhile I can take a 500lb 800HP ICE crate engine and feed it for a pretty long time with a 10lb jerry can full of gas.

If you want to produce it in-house, you can get it down to however much you can manage, here are the blueprints and here are the licensing agreements. Besides r&d that's already been done and high manufacturing standards required, there's nothing particularly special about it, I bet if chinks managed to steal one they'd churn out copies doing 90% of the performance for 5k a piece within a couple months.
