Chiron was just Veyron vol 2 but Tourbillon with it's naturally aspirated v16 and the same weight as Chiron in spite of heavy hybrid powertrain is really something new

no it isn't. its just Veyron Vol 3 or NSX with 10 more cylinders. VAG basically admitted these cars are completely uncompetitive and are no longer going to even attempt speed runs with them. there is no point to them anymore other than selling something that's living off the Veyron's now dead and short legacy, of a french brand's even deader legacy. european super cars are all trying to capture past magic whilst the Corvette increasingly makes them even more trivial.

GM just made it easy for anyone to walk into a dealer and go 230 MPH afterwards. anything above 200 MPH used to be exclusive speeds.

it really wasn't. it was an actual sports car.
anyway, tourbillon isn't groundbreaking, but it's interesting because it represents the new breed of hypercars, where ultimate performance is no longer the end all be all and the experience takes priority.

the point isn't records. you can go 230 in some shitty car, but only in a Bugatti can you do it in actual comfort. any other car will feel like it's being ragged to death anywhere close to 200mph, in a Bugatti it's just cruising speed.

The Chiron is still the best looking of the bunch.

this is the same cope they were using back then, and its just marketing jargon by VAG to excuse their inability to compete.

It's not trying to compete with anymore. That's why it doesn't have turbos. They tried to make it a piece of art like Pagani.
