Can't speak for the continent, but in Bongland you should assume a road is two-way unless explicitly signposted as dual carriageway. Also, a lot of multi-lane roads have cat's eyes marking the meaning of the various lines.

Europoos are stupid cucks who decided that yellow color road markings were bad thing that could cause some issues with autonomous cars, probably also cars ADAS systems.
if we go 15 years backwards, some europoo countries used yellow lines between lanes to more clearly show drivers when its illegal to overtake other vehicles, also to separate which side traffic was banned from overtaking and which side was allowed to overtake vehicles. This was very beneficial on winter times because the yellow road lines were easier to see my human eyes than white color lines.

on multiple lane roads directions are separated by either a physical barrier (some grass in the city or an actual metal barrier on the highway) or a double-solid line (meaning "no-cross"). So you never cross into oncoming traffic, and why would you? There are multiple lanes to pass people.
