Why don't they design cars that don't need tires? I want a car that can just drive on the rims.

I believe what you're describing is called a "train".

I want to drive it on regular roads though. You can't drive a train down normal streets.

Are you sure ?

They have a harsher ride, are expensive, weigh more, have high rolling resistance, have a harder time dissipating heat, and depending on the weather/temperature the material of the wheel may change the characteristics of how it flexes.

this guy's a faggot
yes truggs and suvvs are getting ridiculously obese
but seriously, almost all of his benefits of bikes could be done with motorbikes, which can go as fast as any car, carry more than fucking bikes and don't make you so fucking sweaty. Nealy as good parking density.
This is the cheap answer that cycloids are too chicken-shit to say. Instead they insist "bro just put a bag on the seat you can do all your shopping on a bicycle bro"

>drive on the rims
You can. People have done it. There's good reason why you don't drive metal across pavement. Also you'll feel everything from the road, and the moment you hit any kind of hole or roughness your rim will be damaged, bent, and ruined.

BASED. With some work I bet they could get the cost down and get the fix some of the challenges.

You can drive any car on the rims, but whoever maintains the roads will probably stick you with the bill for fixing all the damage you do.

I tried, but the bastards revived me.
Then my insurance canceled.
Then I got the bill from the emergency room.
So now I'm still alive and in debt forever.
Fuck my life.

most tire manufacturers have been putting in quite a bit of effort in. if they can 'crack the code' they'd be able to monopolize it. and it's not like they're trying to squash developments, as they are currently a big thing for industrial vehicles

Yes. At the very least there will be military interest in these and you know how those work, $300 tire turns into $30k somehow.

Why don't you do it? Why do retards wait around for things to be done for them? If you think that can be done then do it and become a multimillionaire. Any of you could start a car company too, you're just too lazy.

I am not only too lazy but also too stupid to start a car company (and not go bankrupt).

Finding competent automotive engineers to design and create your cars so they aren't fucked up, unreliable garbage would not be easy or cheap.

They drive like a roadroller especially full size fwd with puny 2.0l engine. Only good thing about them is bowers &wilkins setup. However, 400 hp models are good nuff
