On a proper roadtrip how many nights would you say is the most you'd stay in one location before moving on? I find for myself beyond 2-3 days and I get the itch to want to just drive elsewhere and see new stuff.

Sounds right. That area looks near Salt Lake. The only place I ever stayed longer than expected. It was hard to leave. Just dicking around the city and hanging on Antelope Island.

hey there buddy.
I take 1 or 2 weeklong roadtrips per year. I rent either a full size pickup or a minivan. I live and sleep out of it during my entire trip.
I love driving so sometimes I do nothing but drive around the state for 11-14 hours.
Sometimes I find a nice spot and stay there for two or three nights. but since I always want to see more, I go elsewhere.
When I take these trips with my GF, we stay longer. She doenst really like sitting shotgun for 10+ hours, in that case we make a weeklong trip out of 2, or 3 spots.
Last August we spent 3 nights in Badlands, and then 4 in Cody visiting Yellowstone.
Personally, I love the Moab area, and the Smokey Mountains.
When in Colorado, I spend 5 days circling around the state, finding winding roads, looking for hiking trails, etc
I really wish I could take an entire month off to do this, and then I could spend 5+ days at a single location fully taking it all in.
