Evidence-of-Severe-Front-End-Damage-on-a-Vehicle-After-an-Accident-scaled
Car prices vary wildly around the world for the exact same cars
Would this scheme work?
>Find totaled vehicle about to be scrapped, buy it no money
>Import identical model from thirdie country in perfect condition for table scraps
>Transfer VIN and identification to the new vehicle
Now you have a legally imported vehicle. If you think this wouldn't be legal, consider this: I could keep replacing the old car's parts with the new ones until there's nothing left of the old one, which wouldn't affect the legal registration of the vehicle one bit, even though the physical end result would be identical, if that's legal, so is this.

I'm interested in this idea, but I have no input for you. Bookmarked though

hundreds of thousands of used cars get exported from first world countries to thirdie shitholes
What do you think happens to the value of such a shitbox once it gets unloaded? What would it take to make this a business worth doing?

Fraud, unfortunately. Yes if you make it a Car of Theseus then I donโ€™t know.

Transportation costs make this a terrible idea unless the thirdie car is pristine and you're sending hundreds or thousands of cars at a time. For a shitbox like OP's pic, it'd be a colossal waste of time even if you got the thirdie car for free

In the UK, this wouldnt work unless you also swapped in at least 2 "major" original parts

see: https://www.gov.uk/vehicle-registration/rebuilt-vehicles

>A rebuilt vehicle can keep its original registration number if you can prove youโ€™ve used:

>i) the original unmodified chassis or bodyshell (car or light van)
>ii) a new chassis or monocoque bodyshell of the same specification as the original

>You must also have 2 other major components from the original vehicle from the following list.

>suspension (front and back)
>steering assembly
>axles (both)
>transmission
>engine

I'm sick of hearing this shit. A car isn't a fucking Lego set, you try replacing the fucking shell aka the part with all the numbers stamped on it, go on, do it. It's not like replacing a door or a motor or suspension, it's literally the largest fucking part which is the core of the vehicle which everything else attaches to.

People used to do this shit all the time, sans the importing part. It's basically the plot of the original "Gone in 60 seconds"
