Is it worth it to get a bulletproofed 6.0 Powerstroke?

Rarely. A proper bulletproof job was over $10k even before the money printer going brrrrrr the last few years. So either corners were cut or the seller "knows what he's got." Also the newest 6.0 is going on 20 years old, so aside from the engine you'll have old truck problems. If you are okay with that, the better but will be a 7.3 (goat engine imo.)
At this point there are plenty of 6.7s on the market that are cheap enough to not worry about it.

What engine is actually "Bulletproof"? min of .223, not pistol caliber.

Bulletproofing a 6.slow is a misnomer because it basically just makes it about as reliable as any normal engine of the time and able to take turning up the power without exploding, not 7.3 or 12v levels of reliability where it thrives on neglect and boost, and that's assuming it was actually done properly with quality parts. So no, I would stay the fuck away.

Duramax is the only bulletproof engine. It's in the name.

Why? What's the goal? You'll never make it up in fuel economy nor power even if you own it your entire life

This poster knows. The "mechanic special" 6.0's can in fact be bullet proof, but if you have to pay someone to do it, it simply isn't worth it. If you can do it all yourself, then it can be worth it. Just like every other diesel, they definitely can get to 500k miles, but nobody is willing to pay a diesel mechanic 5-figures to unfuck it all.

we ran up the expenses on a customer's LBY that he had put about 250k miles on, it costed him about $80k in maintenance and fuel. there's 0 sense in buying a diesel unless its making you money. a 6.2 gasser will pay for itself even if you're dropping a new block in it every 250k

No. Even "bulletproof" 6.0 are a headache. HP oil pump and sensors suck. Better just to Cummins swap it in my opinion. The Ford 6.0 and 6.4 made me switch the fleet to Cummins.

Might want to re-run the numbers?

There have been several diesel vs gas super duty truck comparisons; the diesel is very slightly cheaper in the very long run of 200k miles because of its resale value, and we're talking maybe a difference of 3-8k strictly because of the potential resale value of the truck.

If you're just wanting a pretty truck to drive around town then yes, the gasser is the way to go even if you do tow the statistical 1 time a year.

Diesel simply costs more in fuel but will break even or come ahead due to its better MPGs while towing something. Diesel maintenence and repairs cost almost twice as much, but at 100k+ miles, not many buyers are excited about a gas super duty as a used work truck. Both gas and diesels are fairly close in how much they cost provided you're putting a decent amount of mileage and towing something those trucks were made to tow.
