Getting a license should be harder.

Cars are too dangerous to just hand out to everyone. I don't want cars banned, I'm not anti car, I'm anti dumbass drivers

Just look through the comments of any video of an accident involving a motorbike or a bicycle and a car.

>car illegally turned, swerving into the bicycle lane, and hit a cyclist?
>HE WAS IN THE BLIND SPOT THE CYCLIST SHOULD HAVE SLOWED DOWN!

>car messes up turn and ends up on wrong side of the road and hits a motorcycle stopped at a light?
>THIS IS WHY MOTORBIKES SHOULD BE BANNED THEY ARE INVISIBLE TO NORMAL ROAD USERS!

>car turns against traffic (like, turning left in america or right in Australia) and just STOPS blocking multiple lanes and a motorbike runs into the side of them 1.2seconds later
>WHY DIDN'T HE USE THE BREAKS HE HAD 5 WORKING DAYS TO STOP WITH REACTIONS LIKE THAT HE SHOULDN'T BE ON A BIKE!

These are all real videos and not disingenuous representations of the comments. So many drivers are terrible drivers and overly aggressive with their driving. Not even understanding basic laws.

>you are responsible for your own safety!
no, when you are driving a car you are responsible for the safety of others around you. If you think you aren't responsible for not hitting people with your car when you drive, and others should get out of your way, you should not be allowed to drive.

See that's why I always stick to the middle lane. Ironically less traffic there too while people have tailgating competitions on the passing lane go figure.

Stricter testing would be a good start, but we should also be requiring periodic retesting. Why is it that I need to prove I haven't forgotten how to safely operate a forklift every three years, but the license I got at 16 is good for a lifetime? I'd like to see people retested on their driving skills every 3-5 years, with that going up to annual testing for people over 65.

I was overseas for so long i needed to resit my drivers license test when i came back. I'd only been on small scooters in asia for a decade.
