I want to DIY monoinjector/carb cheater+123ignition distributor to basically have ECU. Is it worth it or is it better to drop ~1k$ on it

You're trying to build the ecu into the dizzy? Why? If you're asking, you probably don't have the skills and knowledge to do it anyways.

I'm asking exactly because I know how much pita it's gonna be, but also I can't really just spend 1k like that, so I want to know if the pain is worth it

No, why would you even want that? Are you trying to cheat in some racing league that only allows points distributors or something? There's already tons of aftermarket solutions for exactly what you're doing, but they're not built into the distributor.

I want to squeeze out as much as possible from my engine, turbocharge it too, and I don't want to use premade solutions as they are much more expensive and work intensive. I don't need the ecu to be inside the dizzy-I need something that plugs into the standard dizzy place and offers maps n shit

You're throwing around terms while having absolutely no idea what you're talking about. You should spend a year or five simply maintaining whatever piece of shit you currently drive while reading/watching YouTube videos about how cars work.

Name the vehicle. Describe the engine to us. I also cannot fathom why you're not going through megasquirt route.

I'm looking at a holly sniper efi and electronic dizzy for my 351c but it's $4k before installing, tuning etc;
Probably cheaper at that point to buy an xr8 and swap in the 5.0 EFI Windsor, BTR 4 speed auto and lsd disc rear. Better power and fuel efficiency but I'd be losing the cleveland sound.

>megasquirt
well I still need sensors, easiest way to tell the ECU what cylinder we're at is missing tooth distributor-and we`re back to DIYing 123ignition dizzy

>36-1 trigger wheel on the crank pulley
>DIY sensor bracket, magnetic pickup
>ECU
>coil pack

why people still use distributors in any form is beyond me.

This
Trigger wheels aren't rocket science, it's literally just a round thing with teeth that has to spin concentrically with the crank.

well it's easier to have a smaller round thing that has to spin concentrically with the sparkulator axis
