Why aren't Mazdas more popular? They are literally Toyota but not for soulless zombies

If only they had more turbo variations of their engine they would be perfect

Also fuck you burgers for killing the Mazda 6, literally the best looking sedan in the world

They dont need to upgrade their engines when the rest of the world is using some frankestein 1.2 trash that are saved by turbos and need a rebuild after 50k miles

A good old 192hp skyactiv will drive circles around them.

>Why aren't Mazdas more popular?

The non-touch infotainment screen puts off a lot of people. Basically every other car has a touch screen, and that's what people want and expect.

inb4 "screens are dumb!" - the market doesn't care what you have to say. You are in the minority.

Can't you use it as a touch screen for carplay/android auto? That's all people care about, the actual manufacturer radio interface is irrelevant if you're just projecting your phone anyway whole is plugged in and charging

You can only use the touch function if the car isn't moving. Otherwise you're forced to use the dial. I think maybe the changed that on the most recent cars, but anything before 2025 is gimped, which is why they aren't as popular.

More expensive than a Toyota or a Honda, about as reliable as a Toyota, they don't have much beyond commuter cars, and the miata is a specialist car. Hopefully now that they and Toyota are working more closely their will be something exciting soon

Mazdas are cheap and practical while also trying to be little more sexy and fun than a Toyota, Hyundai, Subaru or Honda. If you're someone who doesn't care about cars at all and makes decisions solely based on price, gas mileage, and perceived reliability, you're just gonna buy a Honda or Toyota instead. Also, awareness of the brand is just really poor in America at least. The CX-5 is popular, but I don't think 95% of people are even aware that the Mazda 3 is meant to compete with Corolla/Civic/Elantra and thus don't consider it while shopping for an affordable compact car.

They are relatively popular at the moment, so in a big city a "slightly used" cx-5 will approach MSRP unless it's been in a wreck or the like. 10 year old clapped out POS are still 8k here. It could definitely be worse, but it's not what it should be.
