2020 A5 Sportback. No accidents. Regularly serviced. Only 35k kilometres. It belonged to an Asian lady who worked a block away from home.

On a scale of 1 to 10 how fucked am I?

this would be my concern. still, she put on ~22000 miles over 5 years. But how much of that were 5 minute drops to work and back and then occasional long trips once a year?
sheeeeeit.
How often was the oil changed at least?

I got the maintenance records, and oil was changed yearly. she even opted for an extended service package when she bought the car, which transfers to any new owner. I got 60k, and 80k maintenance appointments still left.

I also purchased a 40k kilometer warranty for any mechanical failures as extra precaution.

it came to $26k (after a very generous appraisal of my nine year old A3). I couldn't pass this up. the mileage was so low.
it's first drive date was in January of 2021 (probably on back order due to covid). so really it's a 4 year old car.
any tips on what I should watch out for? I know these engines burn oil like a mother fucker.

she was a teacher. probably got it to show off to her faculty, and realized four years later what a retarded waste of time that was.

Is this how it works? You just ignore the value of your own car to make the new one seem less expensive?

it needed a new gear shift lever assembly. great car that served me well, but it was time.
I've always tried to maintain my cars for eventual resale when they get a little long in the tooth, or have something potentially catastrophic in the offing.

Yes, and good ones too, as evidenced by OP's car. I wouldn't touch the 2025 revision of the A5 model with a ten foot pole though. What a ghastly, hideous looking fucking ricer car they turned it into.

They’re really good desu and pretty fun to drive. They have water pump issues but that will covered by warranty most likely. I sort of recommend dealer service only bc Audi is generally pretty customer friendly and at least where I’m at it’s only $20 more than the indies per hour.
I’d do the Trand and diff fluid every 30k ahead of schedule due to some issues that pop up with the DSG, which is btw a very good sporty gearbox, and lastly I’d plan on doing at least the control arms around 60k miles preventive becuase Audi was using soft rubber for NVH reasons and you’ll beat up your chassis if you let the old ones stay past their due date.

It’s a very good and reliable car and trans and really if you kept it to 120k you MAY have a few bills above $1k but usually not. It also looks to be better than the new one but I don’t like all the extra filters and hybrid tech they stapled in to the same drivetrain.

Nice car. You’re also prob faster than most NARPs that post here.

Tuning wise I like 034 and APR but I’d recommend sway bars and Ohlin springs first.

see those rims? 20" rotors. apparently very in demand on the second-hand market. a set can fetch you $4k alone depending on wear. not too crazy about them as the 265/30/20 tires on them are expensive as fuck to replace.

I have a carfax report indicating all annual service oil changes done by audi themselves.

nice. nice. any other advice my guy?
