It was 92 degrees versus an average daily high of 88. Heat isn't the problem here.

The article is bullshit because 92 degrees is not "extreme heat" for a concrete slab. If that slab buckled from heat expansion, it was because it was installed improperly without an adequate amount of expansion joints, not because the heat was too extreme.

the asphalt absorbs heat and is far hotter than the air temperature, you fucking retard. 90 degree air temp = 140 degree asphalt. the road previously buckled due to the heat and that's why they had an engineer filming at the time

you must have graduated from a missiouri public school

>asphalt
Are you really going to go the route of attempting to insult someone's intelligence when you don't even know the difference between concrete and asphalt? And I'M the fucking retard here? LOL, ok bro.
>is far hotter than the air temperature
No shit, but it's not getting any hotter than concrete does or has in many other places over many decades in the past. If this happened due to a 92 degree day being "extreme heat" that properly installed concrete can't handle, then it would be happening all over the place all the time. But it's not. This was not caused by "extreme heat", it was caused by a normal amount of heat going in to a concrete slab that wasn't installed with adequate expansion relief features, plain and simple.

It will be 98ยฐ tomorrow.
Does that mean my local roads are going to explode?
92ยฐ is a normal summer day in the southwest.

Funny how we've had centuries of parts of the world reaching 90F+ during SUMMER without this being an issue. I'm sure you're in a panic because the media is calling it "extreme heat" now (it's temperatures I played outside in as a kid) and weather maps start making things super scary dark orange and red at lower and lower temperatures.
