Corvette now has 5 models, but this is the first generation where Cadillac doesn't have equivalent models the way they did with the CTS-V. All they have is the CT5-V Blackwing which is great and all, but there's so much more on the table for more models. 668 hp is plenty, but what about a model with even more? Maybe bring back the CT6 and make it a hybrid like the E Ray? Maybe a CT6-V with the 1000hp ZR1 motor, and a Blackwing with the ZR1X motor? They now have the bespoke Celestiq which is well in the 300s, but no other sedan between $100-300k. What are your thoughts, /o/? Should Cadillac bring back the CT6 to fill in the $100-200k market with typical GM power a la Corvette?

Why would they make a sedan when there's zero demand for sedans? There's no reason for a sedan to exist when the Escalade or a high spec GMC Sierra exists.

Because they've catered to enthusiasts for 20 years. Hell, the blackwing has a manual transmission, and clearly enthusiasts like that. Not everyone wants a Corvette, but they sold plenty CTS-Vs. I'm considering getting one myself.

cadillac sells sedans, GM already manufactures corvette drivetrains.
caddy should get zr1x treatment and so should denali
if you disagree with this you belong to a third gender

Times have changed. Were not in the CTS-V days anymore. People liked sedans back then and there was a lot more demand for performance sedans. The fact that Caddy now sells like 10k sedans a year is proof that it's a dead market. Them trying to sell a sedan/sports sedan in these times was/is a pretty questionable business choice imo but whatever.

Is it really any more questionable than selling a mid engine super car for $200k? They already aren't selling too many ZR1s, if any, and they outdid even that with the ZR1X, so clearly they like going ham, and doing fun stuff. Honestly, if I could afford it I would pay for a nice CT6 over a BMW or Mercedes. The market may not be big, but there's always going to be enthusiasts who want more power.

The ZR1 has allocation lotteries and mile long waitlists already. People are going to buy them even with retarded dealer markups. That has a massive demand while a sports sedan doesn't. If somebody wants power in something sporty they buy a Corvette. If they want power in a practical vehicle they get a Escalade V. Nobody is asking for a shitty combination of the two. Ironically for you and you're argument GM will likely stuff that TT V8 into a Silverado Bison and make an actual TRX/Raptor competitor which would fly off the shelves.

I get where you're coming from, but as an enthusiast I would vastly prefer a sedan over any SUV. I realize I'm in the minority, but there will always be a niche of people who like sedans or BMW and Mercedes wouldn't have their respective M Series and AMG. The US may prefer SUVs and trucks, but that doesn't mean everyone does. That's just my two cents. A twin turbo truck is a great idea tho.

everywhere else (except the arabs) has staggeringly higher costs to own something like an S63 or 760. Europeans get taxed so heavily you'd have to be wealthy to afford a 340i, much less a m3. meanwhile a waiter could comfortably afford payments for a m3 on tips if he works at the right restaurant, and you could buy an escalade if you ran a moderately successful lawn care service. we're in a bizarrely affordable car market, and it makes us think that there's a market for cars like ours elsewhere.

They would if GM was serious about competing against german manufacturers, but I guess they gave up and pivoted to EVs a while ago

True, but that isn't to say there aren't rich Americans who could afford nice luxury sedans. If Corvette is always punching above their weight class with lots of people loving them then I'm sure there are also people who would take a revived CT6 to daily drive. Whatever they did 5 years ago was a joke, but if they wanted to they could absolutely compete with German brands. It would make me happy anyway because it would be one hell of a used car with a fuckton of power.

Go drive through a rich neighborhood. It's all luxury trim pickup trucks, luxury crossovers/SUV's and your stereotypical sportscars/supercars. There are very few sedans of any variety. If they aren't buying $120k sedans normal people probably aren't either.

>>28476104
No? They sold 2x more Escalades.

I would argue that the vette is in a completely different market segment than the ctsv and its brand image is much stronger than Cadillac.

>>28476087
>as an enthusiast
the sedan enthusiast market is nowhere near the size of the crossover suv buyer market. I drive a (cheap) super sedan and I enjoy it but most people rather have an SUV for even more practicality or a dedicated sports coupe for better performance.

>>28476087
Cadillac has tried and failed to compete with German luxury brands since the early 2000s and that was when the market was buying those cars in droves. Anyone in the market for a sedan will gravitate towards a Mercedes or a bmw purely off of the brand name, even if its the interior car at a higher price. quite frankly im surprised a car like the ctsv still exists.

I just wish GM would allow Cadillac to make a ZR1/X with the design language of their LMDh car. I would genuinely import one if they did.

Wrong, the CT5 was Cadillac's best selling model last year, Cadillac themselves said so https://www.motor1.com/news/705607/cadillac-ct5-global-sales-record/

True. Though it's primarily China.

20% means there's still a lot of people out there looking for a sedan, even if most of them were probably sold for old people who always wanted a Cadillac sedan when that meant something

In 2024 they sold 6,208 CT4's and 14,861 CT5's. Not great numbers. But I'm glad they keep it around. Manual is even standard on the Blackwing, they make cucks pay extra for the auto.

There's no demand for it. Sorry to burst your bubble but cadillac isnt interested in selling 6th hand cars to you 27 years from now
