Does this make any sense whatsoever for people who don't wash their own car at home?
Imagine a car-care-conscious person who has access to garage parking, cleans their windshield wiper blades to extend their life, and removes bird droppings with a damp towel as soon as they happen... but doesn't have access to a garden hose and so must use touchless automatic washes every few weeks.
Are those automatic drive-through washes, even touchless, just going to wreck the coating fast?
Talking about a semi-nice compact daily in an area that sees harsh winters with lots of road salt. Think Audi A3.

It’s a faux-luxury econobox that gets utterly raped by Porsche. Remember that brown son.

Ceramic coating has been worth it in my experience. It has lasted three years so far and the local shop that did it will warranty it for seven years. You'll have to use certain kinds of shampoo and glass cleaner, but most won't "hurt" it, just don't use any abrasive brushes or clothes.
Also, if you get a lot of salt during the winter you'll definitely want to wash the undercarriage as often as possible, and that is easiest through a car touchless car wash. Don't overpay. For a regular car you should pay between $900 and $1200, maybe a little more with tax if you live in an expensive zip code

Ceramic coating is only like $500-$1000 depending on your car?
Honestly it does what it says.

If you really like your car you can do protection film, but that gets into the thousands.
But afaik a good job can last for a long while.

You don't need a hose to wash your car retard. I just use a bucket and some towels.

You are definitely overpaying

The pro ceramic stuff is pretty amazing. You still have to wash the pollen and dirt off but just a quick spray works you don’t need anything fancy.
I like ceramic alot. The self applied kits are about 1/5th the effect and don’t have the same wow factor
