The VB is the best WRX out of the box, even if it is polarising.

It's not especially quick. But it's fun to mess around in as well as calmly cruise. Very practical. Interior is pretty good. The large screen is nice. MPG is mediocre. The black plastic exterior is nice because it's easily replaced. AWD is great if you live in a rainy area and if it snows. Comes in manual.

It's pretty gud.

I don't think they'd bother building hype for a cvt only sti. The s210 got shat out unceremoniously and only in japan because they knew it was an embarrassment

the STI was canned due to its terrible fuel economy, if they make a new one it will be hybrid or EV

I thought it was rattly and loud and the clutch bite point was annoyingly far back. Have you test-driven one? Maybe it's all part of the WRX experience, but I did not love this car as much as I thought I would despite it being my dream car all my life.

Genuinely, what is the appeal? It's a hideous car. It looks awful and cheap with those terrible plastic wheel arches. And it is a terrible performer, the WRX hasn't gained an appreciable amount of power or performance in something like 12 years.

Are you stupid or just extremely naive? There's metal beneath it, dumbass. All of those little metal mounting bosses for the clips will hold moisture and salt spray just like a conventional wheel arch. These cars will rust, it'll just take a bit longer to notice it because the rot will be hidden behind cheap looking matte plastic

The body fastener holes are often where rust starts, and that area will for sure collect a lot of moisture because the tire spray will get thrown up in the gap between the metal body and the plastic cover. You frequently see moisture traps like this on side skirts since they're usually just plastic things snapped onto the rocker with push clip fasteners. Same principle.
